I recently had the opportunity to travel to Israel, and found it to be a very inspirational experience. This piece is based upon Masada, a site where ancient ruins sit atop a large plateau. I wanted to take the opportunity to experiment with lighting to add more dimension to the painting. Also, here are a couple photographs from the trip:

Israel is a really beautiful country. When my friend Zakkai first moved there he sent me alot of photos online of the place. Love the new piece.
